Barbara Alford, Ed.D.

I am a native New Yorker who lived in Alabama from 1978-2021 and now makes her home in Suwanee, GA.  My professional background includes secondary school, community college, and university experience, as well as positions in business and non-profit organizations.  In 2004, I retired from a 25 year career in education after serving as President of Troy State University Dothan and founded In Sight Solutions, LLC, providing consultant services primarily to educational institutions.  Through this work I was introduced to Wiregrass Foundation in Dothan, AL, an independent grantmaking foundation focused on health, education, and quality of life, serving as their president for seven years.  In 2021, I returned full-time to consulting, adding governments, foundations, and non-profits to my clientele.  In 2021, my own personal wayfinding led me to Georgia to continue my work, with my company renamed Wayfinder Solutions, and to be near family.  I hold degrees from Brooklyn College (NY) and Troy State (AL) and a doctorate from Auburn University (AL).  While much of the work of Wayfinder Solutions is done directly by me, when an exciting challenge or opportunity exceeds my area of expertise, I will call upon and subcontract with trusted professional colleagues with whom I have worked over a diverse, 40-year career.
